Perfect. Not that you’d expect anything less from Howie Rose. One of the best in the business. A goddam radio legend. Whether they’re losing a hundred games or clinching the pennant, Howie Rose has always brought the energy, excitement and professionalism in the Mets booth. More than anyone else, Mets broadcasters have to suffer through the dark days. Calling 162 games when the team is out of it by August has gotta be a grind. Trying to make the 2009 through 2013 Mets sound exciting is a professional challenge that nobody should have to endure. So I’m happy for Howie Rose who can just sit back and wait for Daniel Murphy’s daily home run to do all that leg work. Call 8 or 9 or 10 strike outs per game from every young starter that takes the hill. Howie can spend the entire 9th inning focusing on just how he wants to deliver his “Put It In The Books” because he knows Familia is a lock down, guaranteed sure thing. The fans, DW, and guys like Howie Rose – those are the people who deserve a crack at a World Series the most.
